Welcome to Year 3 - Monet!
Welcome to the Year 3 Monet Class. Our teacher's are Mrs Morris-Bowman and Mr Brown. We also have help from our class TA Mrs Gowing. We also have Mrs Penn teaching us on Tuesday afternoons. Both Mrs Morris-Bowman and Mr Brown really like teaching us in different ways. We learn through acting, singing, art, writing and investigations both indoors and outdoors!
Year 3 is a big year - we moved from KS1 to KS2 and have lots of fun getting to grips with new routines and new spaces within the school! Our favourite thing about the change is that we get to go on the KS2 playground, which has a trim trail, astro turf, tyres to climb as well a big playground!
In our learning, we get to explore some really exciting topics and are worked really hard! We have lots of writing practise so that we can earn our Pen Licenses quickly and we have extra Math sessions so that we can learn our times tables and complete quick mental arithmetic questions. We also start learning French, which is "tres bien!"
We start the year learning about Megacities, the stone age and rocks and fossils - with lots of school trips and D&T activities! After that we move on to learning about the human body, the Romans and then eventually explore volcanoes and earthquakes and the water cycle. (Please see our long term plan for further information on topics.)
