Year 2: Mondrian & Rousseau Class
Welcome to Year 2 Mondrian and Rousseau Classes
The class teachers for Rousseau class are Mrs Channing and Mrs Tookey on a Tuesday. The class teachers for Mondrian class are Mrs Crosby and Mrs Ankers. In year 2 the teaching assistants are Mrs Richards, Miss Anderson, Miss Toms and Mr Smart who support the learning across both classes.
This year we have many exciting topics to find out about and will have lots of fun along the way!
During the Autumn term we will learn about drawing, living things and their habitats, maps and compass directions, computing systems and the Great Fire of London to name a few. We will be having an immersive history day where we will go back to 1666 to find out more about the Great Fire of London. We will also go on a local area walk, using our map skills to find the physical and human features of our environment.
In the Spring term our new topics will include printmaking, a significant local figure, mechanisms and robot algorithms. In the summer term we will be learning about plants, structures and in reading we will focus on Roald Dahl's books. We really look forward to our year 2 trip to the Roald Dahl museum in April where we will get to learn more about him as an author. Please see the Termly overview for more information.
Please check our Google Classroom regularly for updates, messages and our weekly home learning every Friday. Alternatively please email admin@greenlanes.herts.sch.uk if you have any questions which will be passed onto us.
