Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope this newsletter finds you well. We have some exciting updates to share with you about recent events and important reminders for the coming weeks.
Harvest Festival - Thank You!
A huge thank you to all our families who generously donated food items for our Harvest Festival collection. Your kindness and support have made a real difference to Hatfield Food Bank, who will distribute these donations to families in our local community who need them most. It's wonderful to see our school community coming together to help others.
Electric Umbrella Visit
Last week, we were delighted to welcome Electric Umbrella to our school. The children absolutely loved the performance and were fully engaged throughout. As well as enjoying the show, the children also had the opportunity to learn Makaton sign language, which was a fantastic experience.
Parent Research Project - Your Vote Needed!
We're excited to be launching a new parent research project and we need YOUR input! We'd like you to vote on which topic you'd be most interested in exploring with us. The three options are:
- Mindfulness journaling at home - exploring how mindfulness practices can support children's wellbeing
- No tech homework approach - investigating alternative homework methods that don't rely on technology
- Does better sleep improve learning? - examining the connection between sleep quality and academic performance
Please look out for information on how to cast your vote, which will be coming home with your child shortly. Your participation in this research will help us better understand how to support your child's learning and wellbeing at home.
Parent Consultations Coming Soon
We will be opening our booking system for parent consultations very soon. This is an important opportunity for you to meet with your child's teacher and discuss their progress.
This term, you'll also receive a new style of report that will provide you with more detailed information about your child's learning and development. This report has been designed to give you practical insights into how you can support your child at home, helping you to understand their strengths and areas where they might benefit from additional support.
Please watch out for further details about booking your appointment.
Lost Property Reminder
Please remember to label ALL of your child's belongings - including uniform, PE kit, water bottles, and lunch boxes. We have a growing collection of unnamed items in our lost property, and it's very difficult to return these to their owners without clear labels. Taking a few moments to name everything can save a lot of time and ensure your child doesn't lose their belongings.
Year 6 PGL Trip
Our Year 6 pupils are currently away at PGL in Lincolnshire and are having an absolutely amazing time! They've been participating in a range of exciting outdoor activities and building wonderful memories together. We're so proud of how they're representing our school.
A special thank you to the staff members who have accompanied them on this trip. Your dedication and commitment to providing these enriching experiences for our children is truly appreciated.
Parent Governor Vacancy
We currently have a parent governor vacancy. If you would like to find out what being a parent governor involves and would like to apply please let us know by the end of next week.
Kind regards,
Ms Johnson
