Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you're all doing well. Here are some important updates and reminders for the coming weeks:
Parent Questionnaire – Your Views Matter
We'd love to hear from you! We're running a parent questionnaire to find out what you like about Green Lanes Primary School and any areas you think we could improve.
Please complete the questionnaire by Friday 12th December.
Your feedback is really valuable in helping us understand how we can continue to improve and support your child's education. We've designed the questionnaire to cover a range of topics including curriculum, behaviour, safeguarding, and communication, so you can share your thoughts on what matters most to you and your family.
Thank You for Attending Consultations and Book Looks
A huge thank you to everyone who attended parent consultations and came along to our book looks, to see all the amazing work your children have been doing. These opportunities for you to discuss your child's progress with teachers are really important, and it was wonderful to see so many of you there. Your involvement makes such a difference to your child's learning.
Christmas Cards – A Greener Approach
To help save the environment and make things easier for you as parents, we're inviting the children to give a message to their class instead of individual Christmas cards. This message will be featured on our new look Fizzy Christmas Elf cards, which you will receive on Monday, for your child to write a message to the class to be displayed on their proud wall. We know they will want to keep the card, so at the end of this term they can take it home. We hope this will be a fun and eco-friendly way to spread festive cheer!
Snacks for Breaktime
Just a reminder about our snack policy:
- FS and KS1 children are already provided with a free fruit snack.
- KS2 (Years 3-4) children can bring in a piece of fruit or vegetable as a snack.
- NEW: We are now extending this to include cheese if they wish, such as a Babybel or cheese string at KS2.
Please remember:
- No nut products are permitted
- Definitely no crisps or biscuits at breaktime
This helps us keep all children safe and supports healthy eating habits.
GLSA Grand Prize Draw – Friday 5th December
The GLSA Grand Prize Draw will be taking place after school on Friday 5th December.
It's not too late to get more tickets if you've run out – just let the School Office know. Make sure ticket stubs are returned to the School Office before Thursday 4th December for a chance to win some amazing prizes just in time for Christmas!
School Closure Reminder – Occasional Day Friday 28th November
Please note that we are closed this Friday, which is an occasional day.
New Reception Admissions September 2026 – Book a Tour
If your child is due to start primary school in September 2026, why not book into one of our parent tours? Details are available on our website, or please contact the School Office for available dates.
Enjoy the extra long weekend, and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday 1st December.
Kind regards,
Michele Johnson
