Welcome to Year 2 Rousseau
Welcome to Rousseau class! Our teachers are Mrs Channing and Mrs Tidball, we also have Mrs Richards, Miss Anderson and Mrs Cripps to help us with our learning.
This year we have many excited topics to learn about and will have lots of fun along the way!
In autumn term we will go back in time and learn about The Plague followed by the Great Fire of London. We will immerse ourselves in 1666 London and find out as much as we can about life at the time. We will then find out about The Gunpowder Plot and discover why we still have Bonfire Night and Fireworks Night today.
In spring term we will focus on the local area around us. In our Geography lessons we will explore our surroundings and focus on the physical and human features of our landscape. We will then compare this to a contrasting non-European country. In our science lessons we will use our geographical knowledge to help us locate living things and their habitats and find some of these where we live.
In the summer term we look forward to learning all about the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and celebrating this as a whole school! We will then focus on finding out more about the local aviation history of the area. We will explore some of the key people in aviation and go on some exciting trips to find out more!
