Welcome to Green Lanes Primary School.
Green Lanes Primary School is situated in a lovely location close to the countryside and next to Hatfield Garden Village.
Green Lanes Primary School admits children aged 4-11. Due to the popularity of the school and demand for pupil places we expanded and opened our brand new build on the School’s 70th birthday in 2010. This accommodation adds a brand new foundation unit with purpose built play area, extra hall and classroom facilities.
The school has 14 classes which are named after famous artists. Children can earn house points, by working hard, being polite or helping others, for their house teams of Fir, Elm, Oak and Ash. The house cup is presented weekly to the winning house team and captains. Attractive and modern Key Stage 1 accommodation consists of five classrooms and additional hall, with a wide range of musical instruments. Key Stage 2 is based in the original building, which hosts new technology amongst a lovely 1940s building. The school also has a well stocked library, a Food Technology Room, ICT area, music room and a specialist learning area.
We have extensive grounds which include an environmental area for woodland studies, a thriving pond for nature studies, all classes have growing beds and compete for the gardening award. There are two separate playgrounds for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children, each with its own climbing apparatus or creative play apparatus on a safety surface. The children in the Foundation classes and Year 1 classes also have their own well resourced outdoor play area which has cover so that it can be accessed all year.
