Primary Admissions for children starting school in

Online Applications for Primary Admissions (September 2024) opens on the 1st November 2023. Applications must be made via Hertforshire County Council Admissions. Click here to make an online application. For further information on school admissions please visit the HCC Website.

Green Lanes Admissions Information
The school operates one intake per academic year. Children start school in the September of the academic year they become five years of age. We are happy to show prospective parents around the school at any reasonable time, by prior arrangement through the school office. Parents are advised that initial contacts with the school are best made twelve to fifteen months before the expected date of admission. Visits last about half an hour. In the term prior to admission to the Foundation class, the children are invited to spend a morning at the school in the company of their parents. In addition, an introductory evening meeting is hosted by the Foundation teachers. The evening provides parents with information about the organisation and curriculum of the school and an opportunity for parents to ask questions.
All admission applications must be made via Hertfordshire County Council and places, if available, are offered by them. To make an application click here HCC Admissions. The school does not have the power to offer places on their behalf.
In-year Admissions
Applications for in-year admission to Green Lanes School must be made through Hertfordshire County Council, please follow the link below to view their website or call 0300 123 4043. To enquire if we have any vacancies in any year group please visit the Herts County Council website or alternatively contact the School Office on 01707 262556.
If your child is offered a school place at Green Lanes Primary School, you will receive written confirmation from Hertfordshire County Council. You will need to reply to the letter to confirm if you wish to accept the place. Once you have accepted the place, please contact the school office on 01707 262556 to arrange to visit the school and to discuss your child's admission and start date.
