Welcome to Year 4 Picasso and Van Gogh Classes
In Year 4 we have Picasso class and Van Gogh class. In Picasso class our teacher is Miss Johansen and our teaching assistant is Mrs Little. In Van Gogh class we have Miss James and our teaching assistant is Miss Clark. Mrs Forbes will be teaching across both classes during the week and we are also lucky to have Mrs Greenham, Mrs Buchanan and Ms Gordon who will be providing learning support to year 4 children.
In Year 4 we all work as a team and have great fun learning together. We have a very busy year this year with lots of new and exciting topics to study which form part of our new school curriculum. In Autumn term we learn about Still Life Drawing, Rivers , the Anglo Saxons, Living things and their habitats and Food Nutrition to name a few! In Spring term it is very exciting as we are able to do swimming lessons together. In addition to this we will also be investigating the topics of Latitude and Longitude, the Vikings, Print Making and Textiles and in Science our topic is Animals and Humans. In Summer term we are particularly busy as we have lots of events such as Sports Day and our school trip to Tolmers. On this trip we stay for the night (excitingly away from parents!) and take part in lots of adventurous Outdoor Learning activities. At school some of our topics include, Electricity and Sound, Map Skills, the ancient civilisation of Egypt and Computational Thinking.
